Module SEB01

Self-Employed Borrowers

Assess self-employed borrowers with confidence: entity types, the income documents each needs, and how to read the returns.

Self-employed files intimidate a lot of support staff, and that is where deals stall. This session breaks down the different self-employed entity types, the income verification documents each one requires, and how to actually read a set of self-employed tax returns. By the end you can assess a self-employed applicant without sending the file back for a second look.

What you will be able to do

  • Identify the main self-employed entity types
  • Know which income documents each entity needs
  • Read self-employed tax returns and find the income
  • Assess a self-employed applicant end to end

Format

  • One live session of two hours, on Zoom, camera on
  • A small group, so there is room for real questions on real files
  • 2 CPD points, recognised by MFAA and FBAA
  • A free re-sit for six months if you want to revisit it
